ハイロード店主青山の尊敬する友人の一人、ヴァレンティーノ・セビッチ氏がこのほど新しいサイクルレーシングチームを発足させることになりました。
A great friend of me, Aoyama at HiRoad, Mr.Valentino Sevic decided to form a new amateur cycling team.

ご自身も強力なライダーで、国内外のレースに積極的に参加されている方ですが、日本の若手ライダーが世界で活躍するためにぜひ備えるべき能力や知識を広め、日本のサイクルレーシング界に革新を起こしたい、というのがヴァレンティーノ氏の意志です。
Mr. Sevic himself is also a rider good enough to participate some races in and outside of Japan, and willing to spread the knowledges and systems to ride better among young japanese riders who will one day ride along with international top cyclists, and to help reforming the japanese cycle racing scene.

このチームの特筆すべき点は、なんとあのランス・アームストロングを指導した伝説的コーチ、クリス・カーマイクル氏とのタイアップにより、世界最先端のコーチング＆マネージメントによる競技力向上プランを備えることです。世界の多くのプロチーム（ツールドフランス出場チームを含む）にも比肩すべき、驚くべき強力な体制ということができます。
The team is truly unique because they coopeate with the legendaly coach Mr. Chris Carmichael, the former trainer of Lance Armstrong, and offer the world's highest level of coaching to the team riders for improving the ability of each riders and the team as a whole, as well. This is almost equal to many world's top level professional cycle racing teams (including the Tour De France participant teams).

I’m very pleased to announce the formation of a new cycling team based in Tokyo, called Team Valentino & Partners.
東京を本拠とする新しいサイクルレーシングチーム「チーム・ヴァレンティーノ・アンド・パートナーズ」の結成を、ここに謹んで発表致します。

Team Valentino & Partners has been founded on the belief that the talent is here in Japan, the determination is here in Japan, but world class coaching, effective team structures and team skills such as race strategy and execution aren’t prevalent enough in the amateur ranks so as to accelerate the rate of improvement of Japanese competitive events and cyclists.

才能あるライダーも、成果をあげる強い意志のあるライダーもここ日本には存在するのに、世界一流レベルのコーチングや効果的なチーム構成、レース戦術とその実行といったチームとしての技能など、日本のレース界と選手達の発展を加速させるべきこれらの事柄がアマチュア選手達のあいだに広く共有されていない（そのことが日本のライダーが真価を発揮して世界で活躍することの障害になっている）、このような信念にたってチーム・ヴァレンティーノ・アンド・パートナーズは設立されました。

I am hoping that my company, “Valentino & Partners” and the most legendary coach and coaching system in cycling history, Chris Carmichael and Carmichael Coaching Systems “CTS”, can humbly bridge this gap together to help improve the overall organization of Japanese amateur cycling teams, improve opportunities and enjoyment for amateur Japanese athletes who dream of attaining their personal bests, and to provide an effective platform for young Japanese athletes who dream of one day becoming leading professionals on the international stage.

私の経営する企業「ヴァレンティーノ・アンド・パートナーズ」と、サイクルレーシング界にお ける伝説的コーチ、クリス・カーマイクル氏および彼のトレーニングシステム「カーマイクル・ トレーニング・システム（ＣＴＳ）」とが協力することで上記のような障害を克服する手助けと なることができ、これによって日本のアマチュア自転車競技界のさらなる発展、自己の限界に挑 戦する国内のアマチュア選手達の能力と走る喜びの増進、そして将来世界の一流レースでの活躍 を夢見る、若い国内の選手達に対する有用な活動基盤の提供に寄与することができると信じてい ます。

For the integrity of good organization in our first year of 2008, Team Valentino & Partners “V&P”, will initially limit its team membership to approximately 25 athletes and is accepting rider applications to the team now.

チーム運営上の理由から、チームの初年度である２００８年シーズンにはチーム・ヴァレンティーノ・アンド・パートナーズ（Ｖ＆Ｐ）は、参加ライダーをおおよそ２５人までに限る予定であり、現在参加の希望者を募集中です。

Although V&P is an amateur cycling team, all V&P athletes will be required minimal levels of commitment and performance; balanced of course against real life situations that exist for all amateur athletes.

Ｖ＆Ｐはアマチュアチームではありますが、すべてのチームメンバーは最小限の責務及び成果をもとめられます。当然ながらこれらの責務はアマチュア選手としての実生活上の諸条件とのバランスの上に達成されねばならないものです。

Those commitments are:
チームメンバーの責務は下記のようになります。

主要な責務

- Purchase basic team gear at cost price (uniform, helmet, and sport glasses) provided to athletes with zero profit to the team.
- チームの基本的使用機材を「原価で」自費購入すること（ユニフォーム・ヘルメット及びスポーツグラス）。これは全く利潤なしに各選手に提供されるものです。

- Sign up for individual CTS coaching, which will also coach the team as a cohesive unit. *At the moment, coaching can only be provided in English.
- 個別にＣＴＳコーチングサービスの契約を結ぶこと。ＣＴＳはまたチーム全体としてのコーチングをＶ＆Ｐに提供します。
注　現在、ＣＴＳのコーチングサービスは英語でのみ利用することができます。

- Purchase and train with a power meter of your own choice; potential discount available.
- 自分の好むパワーメーターを購入し、それを使用してトレーニングを行うこと。若干の値引きの余地があります。

Performance commitments;
成績面の責務

- Make honest efforts to train with the team once a week, depending on rider location and racing schedules.
- ライダーの居住地やレース日程によりますが、週に一度チームの練習に参加するよう誠実に努力すること。

- Commit to training and racing for the overall results and honour of the team and for your team-mates. “When your team wins, you win”.
- トレーニング及びレースにおいて最善の成果をあげ、チームとチームメイトの名誉となるべく努力を払うこと。「チームの勝利は貴方の勝利」なのです。

- Compete in a minimum of one race per month, subject to the team racing calendar in Japan (now being produced).
- チームのレース日程に掲げられている国内の競技会に、最低限月に一度は参加すること。（チームのレース日程は現在画定中）

- Commit to training and racing safely, to good sportmanship and to conducting oneself at all times as positive ambassadors to the team, the team’s partners and for the sport of cycling as a whole in Japan.
- トレーニング及びレースを安全に行うこと、スポーツマンシップを遵守すること、および生活の全般にわたってチームと協賛者、そして日本の自転車競技界全体の良き代表として振る舞うよう努力を払うこと。

- Commit to peak performance, without the assistance of any illegal substances as listed by the Union Cycliste International “UCI”.
- 国際自転車競技連盟（ＵＣＩ）の指定する非合法な手段を使用することなく最高の成績を上げるよう努力すること。

- Purchasing a Ridley frame is not a requirement for joining Team V&P, however, Ridley Bicycles has graciously provided us with a team discount so as to help team riders that will require a top quality carbon racing frame. For instance, following a race accident that damaged a previous bike frame, or for those members who want to upgrade their existing frame, etc.
-リドレー社製のフレームセットを購入することはチーム加入の条件ではありません。ですがリドレー社は最高級のカーボン製フレームセットを必要とする我がチームのライダーのため特別なチーム員割引価格を設定してくれました。

To become the most consistently competitive amateur team in Japan by the end of the 2008 season and onwards, and to provide talented cyclists with access to the effective coaching, professional equipment, individual and team skills development, and domestically & internationally organized training camps & racing.

２００８年シーズンの終わりまでに国内でもっとも上位の戦績を継続的にあげるアマチュアチームとなり、この成果を継続し続けること。同時に才能ある日本のライダーに効果的なコーチング、最高の機材、個人及びチーム活動の技術向上、国内外におけるトレーニングキャンプ及びレース参戦経験などの機会を提供すること。

チームＶ＆Ｐは現在公式ウェブサイトを作成中です。サイトには各チームメンバーの写真とプロファイル、及び協賛者についての情報が掲載されます。サイトは今年の４月までに公開される予定です。
